Rebuy tournaments

More chips, more money!

You now have the option of rebuys and add-ons on some of our multi-table tournaments, meaning that you can purchase extra chips during a tournament.

A rebuy is only available before the first break and will only be available to players who are at or below their original chip count. The first add-on is available during the first break and will be available to all players, regardless of their chip count. Depending on the tournament, you may be allowed both methods of boosting your chip count, or just rebuys.

If a tournament allows rebuys or add-ons, this fact will be displayed in the Tournament Lobby (following the tournament name) and in the information box on the right-hand side. The details will be displayed once you select the tournament.

Further information:

The prize pool distribution for rebuy and add-on tournaments isn't calculated until both the rebuy and add-on period has ended. Only the total prize pool figure will be displayed until the add-on period is over. If the add-on option is not offered, the prize pool distribution will take place after the rebuy period has ended.

To request a rebuy simply click on the 'Rebuy' button on the game screen.

If you lose all your chips, the rebuy screen option will appear (if you are eligible). You will then have 30 seconds to decide whether you want to rebuy or not. If you do not rebuy, you will be automatically eliminated from the tournament.

The number of rebuys and add-ons allowed in a tournament can vary from zero to unlimited. The number of rebuys and add-ons allowed will be displayed in the Tournament Lobby under the tournament description box.

When a tournament starts, you can see stack details, as well as the cost of a rebuy or an add-on, and the number of chips per each.

There is an exception in rebuy and add-on tournaments:

If a player is eliminated from the tournament at a rank that has a prize associated with it, even though the prize pool is not published, the rebuy and add-on periods will be closed. The prize pool will be published and the eliminated player will be paid his prize money.

Crash settlement policy impact

The total chips in the tournament will increase with each rebuy and add-on. The total chips in rebuy tournaments will be equal to the sum of all player's starting chips (including extra starting chips, if any) plus the sum of chips given to all players through a rebuy request plus the sum of chips given to all players through an add-on request. The total chips in the tournament will continue to accumulate as and when players make a rebuy request and the final number will be calculated only when the add-on period is over.

Should a tournament crash during the add-on period, the exact count of total chips in the tournament at the time of crash  will be used to distribute the balance of the prize pool money. This includes the chips added into the tournament as a result of rebuy and add-on requests.
